How to complete a successful purchase
Once you've snapped up something special, there are a few simple steps you'll need to take to make sure your item reaches you safe and sound.
Payment via Trade Me
To streamline things, if you pay instantly through Ping, Pay Now or Afterpay, your chosen address will be sent to the seller as soon as payment is made. You don't have to worry about sending it manually or even contacting the seller directly (unless you need to specify something in particular such as colour or size).
We expect you to make payment within a week of winning (and respond to emails within two working days) unless you've come to a different agreement with the seller.
The seller is expected to ship your parcel as soon as possible. From here, hang tight and your item will arrive shortly. If there's a delay or you have any questions, just drop the seller a line.
Payment outside Trade Me
You'll need to contact the seller directly to organise payment (including the shipping cost). To make things nice and easy, they may have sent you their payment instructions already. We expect you to make full payment within a week of winning (and receiving their details) unless you've come to a different agreement with the seller.
Next, you need to make sure the seller has your delivery address. Just click the 'Choose address' button under your 'Won' page or contact them directly with your details. Make sure to contact the seller (and respond to their emails) within two working days to keep things running smoothly.
Once your payment has cleared and you've sent your address, the seller is expected to get your parcel out the door as soon as possible. Keep in mind, your payment could take a few working days to show on their end depending on how you paid.
At this point, just sit back and your item will arrive shortly. If there's a delay or you have any questions, email the seller.
Pick up
Unless you've agreed to a different timeframe with the seller, we expect you to organise and collect your item within a week of winning the listing. Both you and the seller should respond to emails within two working days.
