Trade Me account
Trade Me credit is used for listings fees and success fees. Funds in your Trade Me account can't be used to pay for items you've won.
If you've topped up your account by accident, we can help.
Credit your account
- Head to 'My Trade Me'.
- Under 'My balances', select 'Credit my account'.
- Enter your details and select 'Top up' to confirm.
- Head to 'My Trade Me' profile-framed at the footer, and select 'Profile & Account' profile-framed.
- From 'Balances', select 'Account Balance' shop-wallet.
- Select 'Add Credit'.
- Enter your details and select 'Confirm Payment' to top up.
- Head to 'My Trade Me' profile-framed at the footer, and select 'Profile & Account' profile-framed.
- From 'Balances', select 'Account Balance' shop-wallet.
- Select 'Add Credit'.
- Enter your details and select 'Confirm Payment' to top up.
Ways to pay when topping up
Ping
You can use Ping to top up your Trade Me account. The following payment methods are available:
- Ping balance
- Debit/credit card
- Saved bank account/card
The amount will appear in your Trade Me account immediately.

Internet banking
We're a pre-assigned biller with all major banks – search 'Trade Me Limited' in your bank's list of registered billers to find us.
It's important that you add your member number (found next to your username on the ‘My Trade Me’ page) and as much of your email address as you can, as the particulars/reference.
Credit can take up to three working days to appear on your membership.
Account balance and transactions
Your 2,000 most recent transactions can be viewed online. To go back further, request an account summary.
- Head to 'My Trade Me'.
- Under 'My balances', select 'View account statement'.
- Head to 'My Trade Me' profile-framed at the footer.
- Select 'Profile & Account' profile-framed.
- Select 'Account Balance' shop-wallet.
- Head to 'My Trade Me' profile-framed at the footer.
- Select 'Profile & Account' profile-framed.
- Select 'Account Balance' shop-wallet.
