Motors trial listing process

From 3 May 2019, we introduced a new car listing process with new listing options, different fees, a longer listing length and different process if your car doesn’t sell.

You may notice:

• Simplified listing options – Premium, Standard and Basic.
• Up-front pricing – we’ve removed auction success and withdrawal fees.
• Longer listing length – listings now last up to 90 days onsite, including promotional extras.

Listing options

There are three listing options: Premium, Standard and Basic. These have a set price and each option includes different extras to help promote your listing. Promotional extras last the same length as your listing.

Listing length

You can list your car for up to 90 days, which means that promotional extras purchased as part of your listing option will also last 90 days.

For auctions, you can run as many auctions as you like within 90 days. Auctions still have a maximum duration of 14 days. This means, you can keep relisting your auction for free until the 90 days is up. Just remember you will need to relist your auction within 45 days (before it’s removed from the site and archived) or before your 90 days is up, whichever is sooner.

After 90 days, if your car hasn’t sold, you’ll be able to renew your ad for a reduced fee.

What happens after 90 days

If after 90 days your car hasn’t sold, you can renew your listing for a reduced listing fee. The renewed listing will last for 30 days. Questions, answers or watchers will not be carried over to your new listing.

For auctions, you can run as many auctions as you like within the 30 days. Auctions still have a maximum duration of 14 days.

Don't forget – you have 45 days once a listing has closed to renew before it's removed from the site and archived.

Note: Members who have listed seven or more cars in the previous 12 months (as at 15th February 2019) and/or are RMVT registered are excluded from this new listing process.
